![]() I look at items that grant Saves, Defense and Accuracy and I cannot judge them against other benefits when comparing with other items. How much Physical/Spell/Mental Save do I need? How much Physical Power? My strategy with Powers and Armor is to just get as much as possible, but I get really lost investing in Saves. I cannot for the life of me tell you about some stats. Does it just come down to experience? Or do you like at all the cTWD, cTSpD stuff and crunch the numbers or what else? But how do you know if the scaling on a talent is good? I struggle to tell if a talent scales well or bad in pretty much any regard that isn't a distance counted in tiles. I think I can figure out talents well, like "I still need more movement/damage/healing talents", figure out what I'm lacking there and get a good balance. I will try to bold the important points though. ![]() What are your goals throught the run? What are you usually paying attention to with your character? This is a hard question to phrase and it looks like a bunch of rambling but I mean it, it's the best way to convey my feelings across. I have 700 hours in Tome on Normal and I still haven't really grasped this. Look forward to trying the other classes and campaigns! Wasn't really following any guide for my build, just winged it really, but was there anything I really should have got talents wise?Īlso for the alchemist quests, do they complete by them selves over a certain period of time or when you reach a point in the story? and is it possible to do all of them? or normal to do all of them for a run? Wanted to finish the base game before buying the DLC, but will defo get it now - great game Not really sure what to do now, is there anything else I have missed that I can unlock / get an achievement for? Pretty happy as I unlocked so much stuff, but did failed to unlock corrupter as the boss was on 4% hp and the grand corrupter guy died - ah well Most of the time I could just stand still and shield tank everything whilst blasting things, only had to teleport really on the final bossesĭied once to the final boss too, and the rest to atamathon who I eventually beat on my last life So not doing Dark Crypt can make what's next a bit more difficult, but in the same time if you have a character that has high chances to die in Dark Crypt, doing it can put him closer to the game over.Got this game ages ago but never got far, started again recently and kept losing to the master.ĭecided to try an archmage for the first time, and just kept going and going way further than I thought I wouldįelt so op by end, could just walk forward and things would die around me, spawning volcanos and shooting lighting without even casting a spell - died twice in the far east as I was playing carelessly and got 1 shot crit both times by bosses. meaning that just 1 level can improve your character survivability for what's next. Now the problem in NOT doing Dark Crypt is that usually you get a level from completing all of it.Īnd 1 level in ToME4 means more skills or improved ones, more stats, etc. > your character can't kill anything fast ?Ĭhances are that he'll die in dark crypt and/or will completely fail to have the good ending of itĪdditionally, some classes are stronger than other, so if you play with a class that is overall weak, chances are that your character will get killed in dark crypt. > is your character taking lots of damage too often since the beginning ? High chances are that he'll die in the dark crypt ![]() > have your character died several time already in easier dungeons ? Usually Dark Crypt is a matter of what you think your character is at the point the quest pop up :
